In 2010, Ford Foundation and Hivos Southern Africa set up a regional grant-making mechanism through the Hivos Regional SRHR Fund (The Fund) to strengthen sexual and
reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Southern Africa.
In 2017, the Swedish Development Agency through the Embassy of Sweden in Zambia joined the Fund with a grant specifically looking at Adolescent Sexual and
Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR) in the region – covering Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA).
The RSRHR Fund occupies a unique position in the region(s) as it provides opportunities to respond to the plethora of strategic SRHR issues that impact on availability and
accessibility of SRH services for all young people living in the region(s).
In a recent baseline it was discovered that there is no comprehensive database of youth-led and youth serving organisations working on SRHR readily available. The Fund has therefore developed this regional one stop online database on organisations working in the ASRHR sector.
